How This Works

Although you may have tried a lot of ways to heal and thrive, you may still feel stuck. The truth is, most of the time, what’s really getting in your way is old trauma that is stored in your body.

What does gravity have to do with Trauma?  Alot!

How often do you think about how gravity works with your body? It’s not just pulling you down. There’s a relationship there. It is possible for you to move more freely: your bones become more energized and your muscles aren’t holding tension any more. This means, you’re saving energy and avoiding injuries.

This means trauma isn’t a life sentence; trauma must be healed.

The healing of  trauma happens when your heart and your body connect; when the patterns are given care directly, and a part of you that felt so hurt or disconnected can re-integrate.

You can feel whole again.

Tension from chronic holding patterns release when you gradually adapt your posture to one with greater balance and alignment. You will feel an ease that will get your whole body working better.

And what’s great about that is, no matter what  physical activity you like to do -football, swimming , biking, acrobatics, tai chi or keeping up with chores around the house - it’s easier and more enjoyable.

As you heal, you will start to thrive personally and professionally too: you will be more effective in your life, and feel more confident in your work. If you’re a practitioner, your clients will also get better faster, which means you will ultimately see more clients, have increased cash flow, and greater ease.

“I just LOVED how I felt in my body and with you during our time together. Yes, there is so much important information of how to really BE in body and BE with others. I did a drawing the next day and in it I wrote- ‘What are 3 changes you saw and felt yesterday?’ My answer was ‘Brains gather information, Backs leads, and you have time to LIVE FULLY.’ I want to find ways to tap back into what you’re sharing. Also to urge you onward with it!!! It’s revolutionary, even though it’s right here with us always.” ”

To understand the connection of your body and mind with the environment, you need to understand these Five principles and how they may be effecting you:

1. Structural / Geometric

You need to be willing to be aware of your body’s physical relationships: is your head in a vertical line with your shoulders, hips and feet not?

3 Functional:

You need to feel through the process of reorganizing your movement strategies for greater awareness, ease and coordination.

5 Energetic:

Be willing to open up to experience more fully your vitality, presence, and relationship to your surroundings.

2. Biomechanical:

Letting your body release habitual holding stresses from your movement and weight bearing patterns.

4 Psychobiological:

Coming to understand that your emotional, thinking, and bodily processes all collectively influence how you organize yourself and interact with your surroundings.

This path calls upon your full engagement — body, mind, emotion, and spirit — in the world. That’s ‘embodiment’ or in Rolfing terms, ‘whole body integration’.

True personal growth happens through the heart, mind, body as well as how we connect with the world. We tend to address ourselves by working on different parts of ourselves separately. Here, we travel deep into our whole somatic intelligence.

This work cannot be done alone. We need someone who can hold and bring to light that which we are ready to change, allowing alignment and awareness to reveal, support and nurture what can only be described as ‘the natural order of a human being’.

True Harmony.
